It's true, I like stuff, too.

I'm not interested in making a properly hierarchical list of my favorites. I'll just mention a few things I found extra interesting or that got me especially excited over the past year-ish- not necessarily created during the year, but appreciated during the year.

Here's an alphabetical list of twenty things that were practically my all-time favorite at one point or another over the past year:

Animal Collective
Album Leaf
Beaten Awake (Get back in the studio, you bums!)
The Blind Tiger
The Jason Bourne movies (though, quality diminishes from first to last)
Cleveland sports franchises
Dogfish Head Beer
Michael Fried
Great Lakes Brewing Co. (Get out to NYC, already!)
Great Lake Swimmers- Oniagra
Grizzly Bear- Yellow House
Akira Kurosawa
Frank Miller
Panda Bear- Person Pitch
David Reed
Charlie Rose
Taqueria Tepango
Tilly and the Wall- Wild Like Children
Marjorie Welish
and finally, the development of my understanding concerning the transition from the Modern to the Post-Modern in visual art as defined and/or initiated by the transition from NY based High (Late) Modern painting to the de-materialization of the physical restraints (guidelines) of art as presented by Minimalism and eventually Post-Minimalism and the resulting theoretical shift from work to text.
