Pull up the Covers

I like covers. So before I head off to the grind here's a story posted at Pitchfork today. Engine Room Recordings has a compilation in the works that has a whole slew of indie artists covering guilty pleasure type songs from the likes of the Spice Girls, Mariah Carey, Cher, and Eddie Money. Coverers include Will oldham, Geoff Farina (from Karate), Superchunk, Mike Watt, and many others. The release, called Guilty By Association, is slated for August. You can hear Will Oldham doing Mariah at the myspace.
