The Coachella festival down in Indio, CA, is coming up in a couple of months and as a temporary Californian, I would love to get all up in that. It seems, however, that along with a sweet mother-effing line up comes an 8-hour drive, time off work, and a $300 price tag. So, I thought that, over the next couple months, I would feature a few of the bands that I'll be missing so that: a) you'll go or b) you can suffer with me. Enjoy.

The Black Keys: These boys rock it for real. Critical acclaim coming out the wazoo. Emotion. Raw power. All that and they're from the Ohio too.

Andrew Bird: I think he can play everything and write anything...his new album hits the shelves 3.20.07 so you'll have a month to get into it before the festival.

The Avett Brothers: These guys play the kind of stuff that makes you think they would be ridiculous to party with, and that they would still be playing after they drank you under the table.
